As an (accidental) performing arts teacher, my stories have most often found their way into the world via stage and small actors. I am now working them into book form as well. In addition to writing scripts, songs, and stories for and with children, I have also authored two blogs; one chronicling the year I spent on the cancer-treatment conveyor belt (2010), and another documenting the beauty and hell of loving a mentally ill partner (2013). I returned to community college long enough to win first place in a writing contest (West Valley College Best Essays, 2015), and to figure out that my years of teaching preschool have rendered me unable to write poetry that doesn't rhyme.

When I'm not working to pay those nasty daily bills, I write and read and then write again. I have had many careers that have afforded me a front row seat to the human condition and the continual sociology class we call life.

Tessie Tennyson

Tessie Tennyson

The Bay Area has been my home for the past three years, though it feels like I've lived here all my life. Teaching was my first career, and now writing is my passion, second only to being a grandmother of three. I've published one novel and am working on several other projects. I regularly invent day trips to experience whatever points of interest my new friends here recommend. I enjoy meeting new people and I love the outdoors, particularly hiking, camping, and rafting rivers.

I'm a copywriter for a B2B marketing agency, a freelance editor and an indie-published novelist.  I have interests in geek topics and fandoms, parenting, writing, publishing and technology.  I love archery, cats, aviation and board games, and I've performed in a variety of Irish folk bands over the years playing flute and hammered dulcimer. I also play fiddle—poorly. I live with my husband, girl-child, boy-child and two cats in the Phoenix metropolitan sea-of-beige. When not working on projects, I can be found writing about writing on my blog, Interpreter of Inspiration. (http://interpreterofinspiration.com)
